Policies
Online booking, what to do when you're sick, how to cancel etc.
Not the most riveting stuff, but useful.
Payment
A credit card is required to keep on file for online booking and payment will be processed to this card after each session. Once payment is processed, you will be issued an invoice.
Insurance or
Benefits
Talk Box Therapy & Consulting is able to offer some direct billing for the following benefit providers:
-Blue Cross
-ASEBP

If your benefit provider covers a portion of the session fee, the remainder will be charged to the card on file and you'll receive a receipt to keep for tax purposes. If you are covered by another benefit/insurance provider you will receive an invoice which you can submit to your insurance/benefits provider. If you pay any portion out of pocket, psychologists' fees are eligible as a medical expense for tax purposes (hang on to that receipt).
Cancellation/No-Show
Policy
In order to honour the time set aside for your appointment, there is a 24 hour cancellation policy in effect. If you can't make it to your appointment, please cancel as soon as possible. You can cancel through Jane (the online booking portal) or by emailing whitney@talkboxtherapyservices.com.
Late cancellations will result in a charge of 50% of the session fee.
Illness
Policy
If you are feeling too unwell for your session, please take care of yourself and cancel/reschedule if needed; the cancellation policy does not apply to illness
Virtual Therapy
-Sessions are not to be recorded by clients without the express and written consent of the provider; likewise, sessions will not be recorded by the provider without the express and written permission of the client
-Clients are responsible for ensuring confidentiality on their end of the call
Fees
As discussed on the Services/Fees page, the fees for therapy services are aligned with the recommended fee schedule of the Psychologists' Association of Alberta. At times, sliding scale fees are offered to reduce financial barriers to care. Please reach out if you are concerned about the financial feasibility of therapy.
